In April 2015, Rexel launched the Ecodays campaign with the goal of encouraging its employees to take action for the environment. On this occasion, each Rexel employee was invited to submit the project of one non-profit organization in the energy sector to the Rexel Foundation. A special judging panel chose the best projects and employees voted for their favorites. The Rexel Foundation made a commitment to support the three projects that received the most votes, which were named as winners of the “Rexel Foundation and Employees Award”: fighting fuel poverty in 170 Austrian households every year with the NGO Caritas; providing electricity for 12 villages in Laos with Électriciens sans frontières (Electricians without borders, ESF); providing clean, autonomous energy for a community in Cambodia with Partnering Against Poverty Association and the Western International School of Shangai.
